The Jolly Banker

Thinking about progress in America, this song was originally written by Woody Guthrie in 1946! Music and performance by Wilco, who have a new album out in June.

What I liked the best of that animoto was the song that went along with it. The pictures of closed business's and foreclosures fit perfectly with the repeating chorus of Jonny Banker. What I also noticed and enjoyed was the pictures of the open road. It seems that "the open road" used to be a type of American dream but in the animoto it symbolized an unstable future and struggling to make it and find a job. Its as if the open road was a last resort. Someone who looses their job and has their house foreclosed, the only thing left to do is move on to someplace else.
